Deep Dive - where you can learn more about Underwater Sculpture Park.

The Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park is situated on the sandy ocean floor of the Molinere Bay, on the west coast of Grenada. There are over sixty-five concrete individual sculptures in water depths from 6 - 25 foot. The statues are derived from life casts of the local community. The park is the creation of British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor , his first underwater sculpture garden. In the words of the sculptor, “Most people just see the surface of the ocean and it is hard to think of something so plain and enormous as fragile. We don’t regard our oceans as sacred and we should.” Mr Taylor is also the creator of the Museum of Underwater Sculpture in Cancun, Mexico, the Ocean Atlas, a 5-m tall, 60-ton sculpture off the coast of the Bahamas, and the Museo Atlantico off the island of Lanzarote, Spain.
